Drop Everything & Read for GLXI’s
Books for Guatemala Campaign
Buy a Book. Share a DEAR GLXi Video. Change Lives.
Imagine your life without the ability to read.
For many kids in Guatemala, that is a reality.
Global Learning Exchange Initiative (GLXi) has worked for a decade to promote literacy in Guatemalan classrooms by training teachers, establishing a curriculum, and bringing the simple joys of books and supplies to children.
The DEAR GLXi effort, which stands for Drop Everything And Read for GLXi, kicks off April 12, 2024. The social media-based campaign seeks to spread awareness for GLXi’s mission and raise funds for the St. Louis-based nonprofit’s Books for Guatemala fundraising campaign.

From Our Teachers & Supporters
“We know there is a community here who cares deeply about reading and literacy, and about creating equal educational opportunities for ALL children. We hope to tap into that shared interest and create a new channel of giving from St. Louis to Guatemala, starting with something that so many of us take for granted – a single book.”
- GLXi U.S. Executive Director Ana Schulz
