In January 2023, teachers who graduated from the GLXi Open Books, Open Minds (OBOM) program began participating in teaching workshops as part of the Open Minds in Action Center. 

Children in GLXi-supported schools in Guatemala create cards and gifts for their mothers on  Dia de la Madres, also known as Mother’s Day.

This spring, your support helped Global Learning Exchange Initiative (GLXi) provide much-needed school supplies like these to teachers in 20 schools.

Guatemalan students and teachers are returning from their “Holy Week break” - reflecting on the many celebrations that occur in the week leading up to Good Friday.

Today, Guatemala is dealing with “a crisis within a crisis.” A World Bank report released earlier this year describes the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic in stark terms. Fortunately, GLXi is uniquely poised to address these problems head on.

Global Learning Exchange hosted its fundraiser Fiesta in September, and it was a huge success. GLXi is grateful to all of the generous supporters who are helping teachers and students with literacy efforts in Guatemala.
