The 2025 school year presents an opportunity for GLXi to innovate, grow, and face challenges with determination and creativity.

Continuous training not only strengthens teachers’ skills but also enables them to innovate, adapt, and better respond to their students' needs. That is why it is a central tenet of GLXi’s mission in Guatemala.

GLXi held its teacher graduation on Jan. 18, and it was a virtual celebration to remember.

In Guatemala, 60% of entry-level jobs require technological skills. GLXi provides much-needed technology to students and teachers who might otherwise never touch a computer. 

The 2024 IDEL assessment results show us that GLXi’s Open Books, Open Minds curriculum is making a huge impact on reading, across grade levels and throughout multiple regions of Guatemala.

It’s official – Global Learning Exchange Initiative is now accredited by the Ministry of Education in Guatemala!

Last week, the General Directorate of Accreditation and Certification (DIGEACE) of the Ministry of Education of Guatemala held an official ceremony to celebrate this milestone.

This year, Global Learning Exchange Initiative (GLXiⓇ) received a record number of teacher applications from the region of Quiché – 120 – far exceeding any other region that we serve. This is in part due to our outreach efforts, and part due to our growing reputation for educational success in the country, particularly in poor and Indigenous communities of need.

AI is now delivering digital children’s books – plenty of them! – to remote, underserved regions of Guatemala, thanks to a unique partnership between Global Learning Exchange Initiative (GLXi) and St. Louis-based 1904 labs.
